Launched in 2010, Ginkgo Residential is a property development and management company for multi-family housing complexes across the Carolinas. Ginkgo focuses on conducting development, renovation, and restoration projects in the most environmentally friendly and sustainable ways possible.

Ascent worked with Ginkgo Residential's construction division to ensure that they would be using Procore's tools most effectively and that the new processes would fit into Ginkgo's unique construction business model.
A Unique Challenge with Launching Procore
When Ginkgo Residential purchased Procore in October 2023, they were growing the different channels of their business in property ownership, acquisition, development, and management. The goal with Procore was to synchronize their project management efforts into one automated platform, streamlining their internal processes as a result.
However, their status as a self-funded developer means that construction business operations don’t always follow traditional processes with contracts, billing requests, change orders, etc. Ginkgo tried to work directly with Procore and an outside consultant to assist with the implementation but didn’t feel those outlets could truly cater to their specific business requirements. Ginkgo’s unique structure meant they needed someone who truly understood how to adapt Procore’s tools to optimize their project management efforts.

Later that year, Ginkgo Residential hired Ascent in hopes that our consultants’ construction expertise would bring a solution to this unique implementation challenge. Another layer of difficulty came when Ginkgo shared that they required the implementation to be completed within a short timeline.
After first taking time to understand Ginkgo’s situation and their particular challenges, Ascent quickly developed a plan and took action. Through a series of customized virtual and onsite training sessions, Ascent bolstered the Ginkgo team’s skills with Procore project management and financial tools. Additionally, Ascent guided the client in developing and automating certain operations and reporting processes for its construction division.
The implementation was successfully completed within the tight project timeline, largely due to Ascent's diligence and the Ginkgo team's positive attitude and willingness to learn. Thanks to Ascent, Ginkgo’s construction division was confident in their streamlined processes and newfound skills with Procore.
